1) Horticultural Crew Member

Do you enjoy hands on work outdoors? Do you take great satisfaction in working safely and organically with nature to create and maintain beautiful landscapes? Then this is the job for you:

 

Based in Port Angeles, the North Olympic Peninsula’s premier landscape management company seeks a gardener with a mature attitude, a team spirit, a friendly face, a learning mindset, and a strong work ethic. Clark Horticultural offers this opportunity to work with nature and with others who love plants to someone who holds themselves to high standards of quality and strives to ensure the client's delight with the results. This position is for a person who will enjoy the satisfaction in producing safe, organic, quality garden care with a team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

As Horticultural Crew Member you would work with a small crew of gardeners in residential landscape and garden maintenance. You would help address seasonal gardening needs on site and report work details. You would perform regular activities such as weeding, mowing, trimming and edging, planting, pruning, deadheading and mulching. You would be responsible for the safe and careful use of vehicles and power equipment.

 

Requirements:

You must be able to clearly communicate in writing and verbally in English.

You must have reliable transportation, a good driving record, and a valid license.

You must be able to operate power tools such as line trimmers, hedge shears, walk behind and riding mowers, chainsaws, and power blowers.

You must be able to climb and work safely on a ladder.

You must be able to lift 25 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionally.

You must have a good sense of smell.

You must have focused vision at all distances, color and peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Preferably non tobacco user. No tobacco use allowed on job.

Located in Port Angeles, the North Olympic Peninsula’s premier landscape management service seeks an experienced gardener with a meticulous eye, a mature attitude, a team spirit, a professional demeanor, an organized approach, a friendly face, a learning mindset, and a strong work ethic. Clark Horticultural offers this opportunity to work with nature and with others who love plants to someone who holds himself to high standards of quality and strives to ensure the client's delight with the results. This position is for a confident, effective leader willing to take responsibility for, and relish the satisfaction in producing safe, organic, quality garden care as a team.

As Horticultural Crew Field Manager you would oversee and work with a small crew of gardeners in residential landscape and garden maintenance. You would help assess seasonal gardening needs on site, make decisions regarding task prioritization, diagnose and treat plant problems, troubleshoot, and record and report work details. You would also perform regular activities such as weeding, mowing, trimming and edging, planting, pruning, deadheading and mulching. You would be responsible for the safe and careful use of vehicles and power equipment, directing the crew’s performance of tasks, and communicating with clients and team members.

 

Requirements:

You must know and use botanical names.

You must be able to clearly communicate in writing and verbally in English.

You must have previous, documented, management experience.

You must have previous, documented, horticultural experience.

You must have reliable transportation, a good driving record, and a valid license.

 

Physical demands:

You must be able to operate power tools such as line trimmers, hedge shears, walk behind and riding mowers, chainsaws, and power blowers.

You must be able to climb and work safely on a ladder.

You must be able to lift 25 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionally.

Customer service experience is a plus.
